You are cordially invited to Thursday Gig on Thursday, June 21st, from 5-9pm. This is an outdoor event featuring Visual Art, Potluck, Memoir Reading with an Open Mic following (memoir, fiction excerpts, poetry). Featured Artist: KALEID artist – John Kurtyka – Paintings and Ceramic Sculpture (with ceramic sculptor Bea Garth and painter Elizabeth Parashis) Featured Readers: Jeane Emerson’s Memoir Writing Group: Jean & Bill Emerson, Roxy Sax, Doris Tuck, Eva Turner, Shirley Clyde, Joane Maser 5:00 PM greet old friends and meet new ones. 6:00 PM pot luck, BYOB and pop 7:00 PM memoir reading open mic follows (usually around 8:00 PM) 42 Central Ave., Los Gatos CA 95030 in the Florentine Village estate. Megan Diddie Draw Breath These portraits are of good friends, acquaintances, and family. I’ve spent a significant time with most of these people and drew them while I was talking to them, while they were sleeping, in the park, at their work, in their homes, while they were drunk, and while they were visiting me. I love each and every one of them and they have their stories to tell and I have my stories to tell about them. The outline for the process of creating these portraits has been loose and unpredictable. I draw from life and I use all the lines that I put down on the paper.
