KALEID Gallery presents two new feature exhibitions for the month of May. Alta Modern Graffiti by ARMOgedon 2057 – Residing in California Armo’s work is a collaboration of typographic elements and exploration with graffiti structure and form. By looking at graffiti and typography by studying their visual commonalities as lettering, much can be discovered and revealed. As graffiti matures and diversifies, more and more of it’s aesthetics filters into graphic design, and it has gained acceptance in popular culture at large, now comfortably accepted as a contemporary mode of communication. Now You’ve Really Made a Mess by Michael Foley – This Exhibit is one of pure chance. How people can truly make a difference, for better or worse and how sometimes, just sometimes, it’s full of irony. Christina Deptula presented Mutual Social Networking: Fun entrepreneurial business models for aspiring artists. Ceramicist Ben Shutz demonstrated throwing clay to make a vase. KALEID Gallery presents HOAXMONSTER: an investigation into hoaxes, myths, monsters, and mystery by Kate Stewart and Trina Merry Why do some people believe hoaxes, even after they’ve been debunked? Why do stories of monsters persist for centuries? Featured Speakers: Residing in California, Armo Movessian‘s work is a collaboration of typographic elements and exploration with graffiti structure and form. By looking at graffiti and typography, by studying their visual commonalities as lettering, much can be discovered and revealed. Ben Henderson has been active in San Jose music and art for almost as long as he’s been alive. Although best known for his musical projects, including Delta Activity, Good Hustle, and his eponymous solo project, Ben also works as graphic designer for the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters. Steven Borelli, Right Brain Rebel Steve Borelli will be showing new, large-size, limited edition, gicleé canvases of his black and white pen and ink work as well as using this opportunity to debut the first of his abstract oil paintings.
