Register at: https://goldendemo.eventbrite.com The Golden lecture/demo is a one and one half-hour free educational presentation on acrylic paints, gels and mediums: an advanced technical explanation of acrylics, and their inherent possibilities. It covers information about the different types of pigments, viscosities, types of paints, grounds and color mixing. Various gels and mediums are demonstrated. You will learn how to extend paint to save money, and how to mix paints with gels to create unique textural surfaces. This hands-on workshop is a great introduction to encaustic painting. KALEID Gallery presents a new feature exhibition Colors of Dreams for the month of April by Rosa Younessi. Colors of Dreams,  In all my paintings in this exhibit, I try to mix emotion, fun, and lots of colors to come up with a painting that signifies beauty. Creative expression holds a natural place in Rosa Younessi’s life. Her father being a master painter, Rosa started painting at a young age of ten with his supervision. She remembers best the lessons of  building layers of paint to create imagery or the very first time she was given a canvas to paint on and experiment with oil on canvas. Her development as an artist evolved through her studies in High School and University. She attended Georgia Institute of Technology and majored in Electrical and Computer Engineering. KALEID Gallery presents Beautiful Garbage a new feature exhibition for the month of April by Sandi Billingsley. The goal of this body of work is to continue awareness of the need to recycle. There is a great momentum towards recycling (here is the) buuuut, there is still need for great improvement. Working in various states, in many homes and living with clients for months at a time, I am witness to the fact that it is still rare to recycle. There are various reasons why the average person doesn’t recycle from a belief that it doesn’t make a difference to lack of facilities. In fact almost every home uses disposable napkins, cookware, cups, plates, and utensils for every meal. There is also much waste generated through individually wrapped food, disposable grocery bags and restaurant togo containers. One Thousand Thousand: The First Third Retrospective by Jason McHenry

KALEID Gallery presents: “One Thousand Thousand: The First Third Retrospective Exhibition” The One Thousand Thousand project has recently passed the point of 333,333 little paintings in an ongoing effort to eventually produce one million. In celebration of the project reaching The First Third milestone we’ll be presenting a large retrospective exhibit that covers the entire span of the project. Archival images, ephemera, examples of early work and a multi-media display will detail the entirety of the project. A staggering amount of current and selected pieces by a number of the participating artists will be on display and many of these artists will be in attendance for the artists’ reception. A terrific little gift will be given out to those in attendance beginning promptly at 7PM until supply is exhausted.
