About Steve Borelli: Steve Borelli has been drawing since he was a fetus. The inside of his mother’s womb is tattooed with the nonsensical scribblings of his overactive imagination. Upon birth, greeted by a world that idolizes imitation, praises repetition, and disdains individuality, he vowed to always use his talent and creativity as weapons in the never ending battle with mediocrity, a battle he fights on many fronts: graphic design, drawing, photography, animation, and now, painting. 1,001 Nights New paintings and curiosities by Woody Miller. I first learned the basics of black and white photography at San Diego State University in 1975, and have become more and more driven toward those basic teachings in my pursuit to create images. Artists’ Reception First Friday June 6th, 7-9pm Exhibit on view through July 12, 2008. This reception is part of the South FIRST FRIDAYS artwalk. It is free and open to the public. Cities and Beyond by Martha Castillo This collection includes work from two of Castillo’s most recent series: “Cities I Have Knownâ€, and “Beyond the Surfaceâ€. Mostly large, all abstract, expressive and lively, they capture her feelings about places and ideas. I perceive life as many of layers of mood, color and texture, and am inspired by the visual evidence of ageing all around us. Those layers, built up over time, and worn down by use, generate the uneven patina of life’s experience. *Clayprinting allows me to be curious, to explore complex interplays of shape and color, surface and core. The monoprints…
