“People and Places” wearable art by Mariya Milovidova In her second feature exhibition at KALEID Gallery, Mariya Milovidova presents her wearable art collection entitled People and Places. This collection mainly consists of silk scarves and dresses recently shown during the Fashion Weeks in New York, Paris, and San Francisco. Mariya’s collection was influenced by her latest experiences in the Bay Area art and fashion industries over the past year as well as her travels to Las Vegas, New Orleans, New York and Paris. Celestial solo exhibition by Tanya Varga For the theme of this exhibition, Tanya has created various works relating to celestial bodies and phenomenon. Tanya has a strong fascination with science, astronomy and science fiction. With these passions intertwined, comes a new series of work that promises to lift the spirits into the outer sphreres of beauty and wonderment. INCLINATIONS solo exhibition by John Kurtyka   Using evocative form and color, John Kurtyka experiments with visual metaphors. His artwork ponders and plays with some of our most serious social and psychological obstacles. A seasoned draftsman, painter, and muralist, he gradually moved over to digital media. At first uploading drawings into the computer to experiment with color. After that he became enamored with vector drawing on the computer which allows him the flexibility to try out the free flow of ideas that come to him as he works.   A resident of the Silicon Valley, Kurtyka’s artwork has been shown at venues that include the Euphrat Museum in Cupertino; the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art and the San Jose Museum of Art.   An Artist’s Trip to Baghdad New works by Andrew Heine   Ten years ago, I served with the US Marines during the initial invasion of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The impact has been reflected in my work ever since. For this opening, I will showcase work that highlights how my art has evolved over time and will also display pieces using found objects that I brought back with me from Iraq.
