Margaret Choy

Growing up in Malaysia, Margaret Choy only knew glass as a material for windows, and only clear or frosted glass. A few years ago, she was introduced to stained glass and fused glass, and was hooked. She was and still is very fascinated by the different colors and textures of glass available for art; how the color changes when light passes thru the glass; how the texture changes the look and feel of the glass.

Margaret’s glass work is inspired by the colors and texture of the glass; she shows off the characteristics of the glass by making these characteristics part of the design. Sometimes her piece incorporates both fused glass and stained glass technique.

Margaret likes to incorporate beauty and utility in her pieces – form and function – such as candle holders, platters, and garden stakes.
