“People and Places” wearable art by Mariya Milovidova
In her second feature exhibition at KALEID Gallery, Mariya Milovidova presents her wearable art collection entitled People and Places. This collection mainly consists of silk scarves and dresses recently shown during the Fashion Weeks in New York, Paris, and San Francisco. Mariya’s collection was influenced by her latest experiences in the Bay Area art and fashion industries over the past year as well as her travels to Las Vegas, New Orleans, New York and Paris.
Mariya Milovidova was born in Odessa,the beautiful city in Ukraine by the Black Sea where she attended Greckov Art School studying the techniques of old school European masters. Currently she resides in the San Francisco Bay Area where she graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelors in Art & Textile Deign. Mariya specializes in one of a kind wearable art as well as traditional media such as drawing and painting on paper and canvas. She has participated in numerous fashion and art shows all over the Bay Area some of which include a De Young Museum Fashion Exhibit dedicated to Jean Paul Gautier and San Francisco Fashion Week. She currently works with private clients and boutiques.
